Pets vs. Coins is the Garden defense loop introduced in Pet Simulator 99 Update 86. Official notes describe seven lanes, with up to nine pets defending each lane, waves of coins, and Coin Boss encounters. The event has its own Garden Pets, eggs, upgrades, plots, plants, resources, and progression.
This guide focuses on diagnosis. It does not invent a best formation because the live event pet roster, variants, upgrades, and account progression determine the answer.
Audit all seven lanes
Watch a full wave and record which lane leaks first, which only barely clears, and which has excess damage. Note the pet count, exact pets, variants, event upgrades, boosts, and any plant support shown. A total-power view can hide one weak lane.
Move one strong pet from an overperforming lane to the first failure and retest. Continue until ordinary waves clear consistently. If moving a pet simply creates a new failure, the account needs more total event power or a relevant upgrade.
Use all unlocked placement capacity deliberately. An empty slot is not always wrong if a stronger pet is being saved for another purpose, but it should be a choice rather than an overlooked lane.
Improve Garden Pets
Update 86 introduced Garden Pets and Garden Eggs, with a Rose Wolf tied to the event’s rebirth progression. Update 87 adds more Garden pets, additional eggs, stronger variants, and a Diamond Egg. Read the current egg panel for contents and acquisition.
Compare a new pet on the weakest lane before replacing the whole formation. Record the change in clear time or boss progress. Variant labels can imply more power, but use the tooltip and observed result rather than an unsupported multiplier.
Use the Garden Fuse Machine or Combine-o-Matic only after protecting active defenders, mission pets, rare variants, and trade stock. A conversion that improves one slot can still weaken the full seven-lane team if it consumes depth.
Use plants and boosts
Plants grow through Farm Plots and the Garden’s seed and resource loop. Official notes name Sunflowers, Fertilizer, Sunlight, Rain, Growth Cocktail, Gardening Potions, and later additions in Update 87. The live UI determines what each currently affects.
Apply a boost to a measured problem: weak-lane damage, plant production, progression, or a boss attempt. Do not activate every consumable simultaneously before learning which one changes the outcome.
The Boost Machine and Upgrade Machine compete for event resources with other goals. Prioritize lasting improvements when they shorten every future cycle, while keeping enough short-term power for the next visible mission or boss.
Prepare for Coin Bosses
Bosses punish uneven lanes and insufficient sustained damage. Start with ordinary-wave stability, then observe the boss lane, remaining health, and failure point. Decide whether the next improvement should be one defender, more placement, a relevant upgrade, or a temporary boost.
Avoid spending blindly after each loss. If the boss is nearly defeated, a small targeted change may be enough. If progress is minimal, return to eggs, plots, upgrades, missions, or rebirth progression before consuming rare boosts.
Record the reward shown or received. One exceptional drop does not establish a rate. The Coin Bosses guide expands the preparation and benchmarking process.
Progress without wasting resources
Complete Garden Missions that overlap normal play. Keep reserves for the next visible Upgrade Machine tier, event rebirth, Super Rebirth requirement, or Combine-o-Matic batch. Do not assume a resource remains useful after a reset; read the confirmation.
Collect Farm Plot output according to the live timer and use offline earnings as support, not as an assumed fixed rate. Expand plots or production when the additional output solves a known bottleneck.
Recheck the event after Update 87 changes. A layout from the initial week can become inefficient when new pets, variants, eggs, plants, boosts, and upgrade tiers arrive.
Troubleshoot poor progress
Confirm that the selected pets are event-eligible and actually placed. Check each lane, event upgrade panel, boost status, and resource claim. Close and reopen a panel if an update deployed during the session.
Test whether a normal-world boost applies by comparing a visible result. If it does not, remove it from the event plan. Keep event and normal inventories conceptually separate.
If an official note and live UI differ, follow the live UI for current mechanics and save the note as historical context.
