Keys and gifts are containers or access items with four competing values: their reward contents, Mastery progress, crafting or combining use, and trade price. Opening everything is not automatically progress. A liquid unopened item may fund a better upgrade than the random result.
Use the official BIG Games database for current item and economy records, then confirm the chest, machine, or gift tooltip in game. Sources, rewards, fragment recipes, and trade status can change after updates.
Identify the exact item
Record full name, tier, upper or lower fragment where relevant, quantity, tradable state, source, and destination. Similar keys can open chests in different worlds or minigames. Similar gifts can have very different pools.
Do not combine fragments until you inspect the recipe and value of both pieces. One half can be scarcer than the complete key. Do not accept a trade based on a generic “key” label.
Lock rare or event items where possible. Keep quest and Mastery targets separate from sale stock.
Open versus sell
Open when the chest or gift contains resources you need, the key or gift is difficult to sell, or Mastery progress has meaningful value. Sell when demand is healthy and the diamonds buy a more reliable upgrade. Hold when an update-sensitive item may gain a new route, but recognize that speculation can also lose value.
Compare net sale proceeds, not RAP alone. For opening, do not use the rarest possible reward as expected value. Track several results if you want an account-specific sample and label it by date.
Time matters. Traveling to a chest, waiting through cooldowns, and listing rewards all reduce practical return.
Keys Mastery and Gifts Mastery
The official Mastery index lists separate Keys and Gifts tracks. Read current perk milestones before using a one-time mastery reward or opening a large stock. A track can improve the opening route while the items still retain trade value.
Level naturally when the action already supports your goal. Buying overpriced keys solely for XP can lose more diamonds than the perk later returns. Preserve rare stock until you understand any combining bonus.
Observe whether an event key or gift advances the normal track; temporary systems can be separate.
Current Sunflower Gifts
Update 87 says every defeated Coin Boss drops a Sunflower Gift. The official post gives two uses: open it for a chance at the Sunflower Hoverboard or Trading Booth, or feed it to the Combine-o-Matic to begin crafting pets.
That creates a real choice. Open for the listed cosmetic chance and other live contents, combine toward Huge and Titanic rewards, or hold if the item is tradable and demand exists. Inspect the current gift and machine before deciding.
